We were delighted to have Flora representing the BDFA in the London Marathon 2024. Flora ran in memory of her friend Lily O’Connor and raised phenomenal funds for the BDFA in Lily’s honour.

Batten Disease has closely affected a family very close to me, the O'Connors. Lily was diagnosed with Batten Disease 15 years ago, aged 7. Despite her condition deteriorating, Lil continued to show such happiness throughout her life, always making those around her laugh and feel such love for her. I looked after Lil over many years - I feel very lucky to have been part of her life and for her to have been, and always continue to be, a huge part of mine.
Gorgeous Lily very sadly died in April 2023 aged just 21. I will be running in her memory, one year after losing her, raising awareness of Batten Disease, fundraising for BDFA.
